DANCEHOUSE SEEKS PROGRAM PRODUCER
Dancehouse is Australia's premier centre for independent dance. We are a site for developing challenging, invigorating and socially engaged moving art. Our role is threefold: to advance independent dance artists, to build dance audiences, and to develop the art form itself. Reporting to the Artistic Director/CEO, the Program Producer plays a pivotal role in the success of Dancehouse and its continuing leadership as Australia's premier centre for Contemporary dance. The role provides a passionate, creative and dynamic professional with the opportunity to directly contribute to advancing independent dance artists, to building dance audiences and inspiring creative living and thinking.
You will play a key role in:
- leading and developing the delivery of the Dancehouse artistic program,
- curating or assisting in curating specific programs
- liaising with and coordinating the efforts of artists and collaborators
- supporting performance seasons and events (marketing, licensing, programs documentation).
- managing application processes
- assisting with contracts, travel, accommodation and visa requirements for visiting artists
- assisting the Artistic Director in devising programs, partnerships and growing Dancehouse in general
To be successful you will have at least 5 years of significant experience at an equivalent level in similar roles in the contemporary or performing arts sector nationally and tertiary qualification in arts management. You will have demonstrated experience in program producing and project management within performing arts events, venues or companies. You will have experience creating and managing contracts, coordinating multiple simultaneous tasks and people, and will display strong communication and organisational skills.
