Falling Three Times Over

In 1994 Holmesglen TAFE made the brave decision to offer an advanced certificate in theatre technology. This course was set to boost the Melbourne theatre scene through the training of theatre professionals. More than that, it offered playwriting students from the professional writing and editing course the opportunity for the best of their one act plays to be produced at a professional standard.

Fourteen years later the course still provides the same excellence in education for students enrolled in what is now Certificate IV - Live Production: Theatre and Events and incorporates the opportunity to stage six one act plays over two theatre seasons.

It is with great pride that we now present our first season for 2008, Falling Three Times Over. This exciting program consists of three fresh new works by emerging Australian writers. They are:

Friend of Jack

Written by Stephen Nichols directed by Gail Beker
Performed by Justin Batchelor and Craig Goddard

"At the end of a long pier, two men watch the rise and fall in the ocean swell. Soon it will be apparent - not everyone is a friend of Jack's..."

Falling Slowly

Written by Laura Smith directed by Ross Brisbane
Performed by Michelle Rao, Angela Faith, Nicki Gregurek and Guy Charnock

"In a sky so dry that it's curling up at the edges, the last two raindrops try to fall..."

I Love You?
