_Turn Your Fucking Head_ is an hour documentary made in 2012, by British filmmaker Becky Edmunds, about Deborah Hay's last Solo Performance Commissioning Project at the Findhorn Community Foundation, near Inverness, Scotland. With a poetic certainty, Edmunds follows the process by which Hay transmits and coaches the same solo dance to 20 individuals dancer/choreographers, from 11 different countries, during 10 consecutive days. The film is now included in the Routledge Performance Archive and later in the year Routledge will produce and distribute the film titled, for firewall protection purposes, _Turn Your F*^king Head_.
Becky Edmunds is a video artist and documentary film maker. Originally trained as a dancer and choreographer, she worked in live performance until 2000, when she moved into a screen-based practice. She has collaborated with a wide range of artists and organizations to create video works, including Rosemary Lee, Station House Opera, Blast Theory, Rajni Shah, Fiona Wright, Gill Clarke, Independent Dance, Siobhan Davies Studios, Arts Council England and various dance agencies. Becky also has a choreographic moving image practice, which seeks to deepen the screen application of dance practice. Her short films and installations have been shown at film festivals internationally, and she has been artist in residence at Videodanza BA (Argentina) Becky Edmunds works both as an independent artist, and in collaboration with fellow artist Lucy Cash under the company name of straybird. She is also an associate artist with Blast Theory.
