Dance Screen Retrospective 1985-2010

Dance Screen Retrospective 1985-2010 presents a historical overview of Mitchell's titles ranging from early works from the mid 1980's through to her most recent work.

The program screens six titles: Warehouse #1 (1985), Chicken (1990), Thread (1994), Sure (1998), Whole Heart (2005) and Under the Weather (2008).

Each work is an unique artistic exploration into how live dance, the camera and space could be intertwined in order to create screen choreographies.

Mitchell's experience in filmmaking is revealed in the deftness with which she shapes her images and organises the space ... she knows how to make an image tell a story." Herald Sun

"Mitchell skilfully and sympathetically translates choreographic language into a filmic artwork that is really beautifully realised." Dance Australia
