Dancehouse actively supports individual artists, working in diverse modes of physical practice and across different stages of career development. It also gives independent artists access to professional presenting opportunities.

The Keir Choreographic Award (KCA) is a national biennial award dedicated to the commission, presentation, promotion and dissemination of new Australian choreography. KCA invites Australian artists with an established practice, to propose a choreographic idea for an original live performance work. Artists from across the career spectrum are encouraged to apply.

 
NEXT WAVE x DANCEHOUSE EOI CALLOUT

Dancehouse in partnership with Next Wave are seeking expressions of interest from emerging choreographers to be commissioned to create a new work in a non-traditional space in the City of Yarra (outdoor or indoor) that will premiere at Next Wave Festival 2018.

MARTIN DEL AMO, MADELEINE FLYNN & TIM HUMPHREY - PARADE

Martin del Amo with Madeleine Flynn and Tim Humphrey present their work-in-progress series of dance-music experimentations to be conducted 'on the floor'. As part of their ROOM TO MOVE showing, they will present a selection of vignettes generated from those experimentations. Parade was originally designed for presentation in two parallel lifts, evoking the fleeting encounters, intriguing coincidences and repetitious potentials of continual punctuating presentations.

 
SETE TELE - THE ISLAND

The Island is a conversation about circumnavigation. This is a participatory experimental dance work, where the audience will be invited to assist in creating in imagining the narrative for that particular night. Yes, each performance will be slightly different.

ABBIE MADDEN - BLINDFUL

Professional dancer, Abbie Madden (Ponydance), explores the ins and outs of a not-so-obvious disability. Teaming with Ryan Darwin (NICA), they create a quirky and atmospheric interpretation of the relationship between being sighted and not sighted - exploring shifts in power, poignant moments and pure physicality.
