Dancehouse actively supports individual artists, working in diverse modes of physical practice and across different stages of career development. It also gives independent artists access to professional presenting opportunities.

EKO SUPRIYANTO - SALT

In SALT Eko Supriyanto engages in a web of relations between his Javanese heritage and the rhythm of the underwater world – a world without gravity where new perspectives emerge. Propelled by the experience of diving beneath the surface, SALT address the rhythm and force of the ocean, which makes up 80% of the Indonesian archipelago. Beneath the surface power relations and identities are levelled.

 
2018 KEIR CHOREOGRAPHIC AWARD

The Keir Choreographic Award (KCA) is a national biennial award dedicated to the commission, presentation, promotion and dissemination of new Australian choreography. The selected artists for 2018 are: Amrita Hepi, Melanie Lane, Bhenji Ra, Nana Biluš Abaffy, Luke George, Lillian Steiner, Prue Lang and Branch Nebula (Lee Wilson and Mirabelle Wouters).

Based on experiments derived from optical illusions and the way the human brain interprets visual information, this showing aims to distill the process of illusion by demonstrating the many ways our perception can shift once we are immersed in a low light environment.

Showing of work-in-progress of a new work by Sandra Parker titled 'Adherence to Procedure'. The work aims to extend the focus in Sandra's practice on rigorous choreographic invention and structuring, using the conceptual premise of systems and procedures as a guiding theme.
