KEIR AWARDS PUBLIC PROGRAM

AUDIO STAGE

Dancehouse invited Jana Perkovic and her inspiring conversation series AUDIO STAGE to join us for the 2016 Keir Choreographic Award Public Program and devise a series of five conversations. The conversations are conceived and hosted by Jana Percovic and Dancehouse's Artistic Director Angela Conquet; completed by Bethany Atkinson-Quinton as Program Producer. Recorded in the RMIT Radio Studios. This conversations series was made possible with the generous support of the Keir Foundation.

BOJANA CVEJIĆ - THE DANCE MARKET & THE DANCE WORKER

We spoke with Bojana Cvejić, performance theorist and dramaturg extraordinaire, on the price and value of dance. Recorded as a conversation in real time between Jana Perkovic and Bojana in Brussels, and Angela Conquet and Bethany Atkinson-Quinton in Melbourne, using Skype, mobile phones, online telephony, instant messaging, email, five computers, and four microphones.

CHRYSA PARKINSON - THE VALUE OF DANCE AS PRACTICE

Angela Conquet and Jana Perkovic speak to Chrysa Parkinson on the creativity of the dancer: the work of dance, the authorship of the dancer, and whether excessive praise is how we pay artists in lieu of a living wage.

DEBORAH JOWITT - THE VALUE OF DANCE CRITICISM

Angela Conquet, Jana Perkovic, and Bethany Atkinson-Quinton speak to Deborah Jowitt, legendary dance critic and one of the seminal voices of and for the 20th century dance.
